Well, living in Stavanger definitely has it's perks and downfalls. One of the perks is that you get to meet people from all over the world since it is such and international city because of the oil and NATO people. One of the downfalls is that the turn around rate is so great here because no one is really "home". They are just here for a short time or assignment of sorts. Just being here in such a short time I have seen a few good friends leave. We are part of a young adult bible study here in our church which has about 10 members. Now 2 of them are leaving in the next few weeks! :( and another will probably leave at Christmas, and another in January. So, it gets pretty depressing when all your friends leave you.
We had a goodbye party for them to celebrate their time here with us.
Uchenna grew up in Nigeria and now lives in the UK, so she is heading back to her home there. Marissa works with Young Life, as I have mentioned earlier, if you read this blog, and the Lord is moving her to a different location in Europe.
Anyway, here are some pictures from our party!
Here are a few of the boys.
Tor (Norwegian), Preb, David (Youth Pastor from Houston), and Jason (from Texas but was living in Alaska).
Randi (Norwegian) and Suzanna (Au pair from NY)
Me and P-bo.
Tor was actually visiting us from Kristiansand, where Preben is from. He studied with me at UGA the year after Preben left.
We will miss you Marissa!!
I see Preben has learned the American "leaning in" in pictures... Hahahaha. :) Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures, I am sure you will miss your sweet friends. Hopefully you will get to visit them sometime.
