We have been in Norway for a few weeks now, settling in and enjoying married life! Here are some pictures from when we were leaving good ole' Georgia to Norge! Here is a picture of our crate that is hopefully making its way across the Atlantic right now. It is filled with wedding presents! It will be like Christmas opening it up. The only problem is that it arrives in Oslo, so we have to figure out a way to get it to Stavanger. It's not exactly the kind of thing you just throw in your trunk... hopefully it can be put on a train and make the trip alone.
If you look closely, you can see my cute dog, Deacon, watching us pack up. I wanted to pack him in the crate too, but I guess 5 weeks is a long time for a dog to be in a crate. I really miss him! I have been trying to talk Preben into letting me get a puppy, (a teacup Yorkie) because I'm lacking a little bit in the friend area around here. It also takes extremely long for all the paperwork to be processed to prove that I am married to a Norwegian so I can start applying for jobs. Until then, I'm relaxing at the apartment. So I thought a little dog is just what I need! I was telling my good friend, Jenna about my problem, so of course, being the nice friend she is, she made this to convince Preben how much I need a companion.
cute huh?The below picture is from when my Mom took us to the airport. It was exciting and sad at the same time. It was the first time we have made the long trip across the ocean together. It makes a big difference when you have a travel partner. It is so much better than being all alone. I experienced my first time getting sick on an airplane, (which is pretty surprising, considering how much I have traveled) so I was glad Preben was there for some comfort. He is so wonderful :)
Here is my faithful mom, who has taken me and picked me up from the airport too many times to count. Deacon, of course tagged along. I think I saw some tears in his eyes when I was leaving. I told him I would be coming home in 3 and a half weeks. Then he was fine.
I have a love/hate relationship with airports. Here we are on the airplane. Well, that's all for now! I am looking forward to coming home for Lauren and Brad's wedding! It is going to be so fun and really beautiful up in North Carolina! I can't wait!
aww love the new post. It's so good to see/hear what's going on with you guys. How exciting you get to come back so soon for a short visit! AWW! We are going to be close on thurs as we will be looking around manchester and then new castle on friday for a short trip to check out our future! whoohoo. I wave to the north at you while I'm there. Take care!
