I know this is super late! But better late than never :)....
I actually made most of this this post in January but never got around to posting because I was feeling so yucky. :( But here it is; CHRISTMAS.
We had a wonderful, lazy, relaxing, and perfect Christmas at home. We always travel to either Norway or Atlanta during this time, which is great to be with family, but exhausting as you can imagine traveling with 2 little ones on long trips, in new places, having different routines all the while in different time zones.
So THIS year, we decided to wake up in our own cozy beds and celebrate the day with our precious little family.
It was even MORE fun, because we got to spend it with my sister, Sara, who was fresh off the plane from doing God's work in Asia this year. How fun that the boys got to spend this special time with one of their aunts. - And it was of course more fun for us too. My other sister Amy was not able to come because she was spending her Christmas in freezing Russia with lots of little orphahns who do not have families to celebrate with. Don't my sisters sound amazing? They are.
The "Frosty Celebration" at Noah's school.
Can't call anything "Christmas" anymore.
Complete with Santa.
There were fun little games and activities for the kids to do.
This one was "throw the ornament through the wreath" game.
Noah waiting patiently for his turn
This was hilarious.
Since we live in Houston, we don't get a lot of snow.
So the kids had a snowball fight with cotton balls in their class.
Cute, fun and sad all at the same time.
The kids sure loved it though!
watch out!
We had a mini Christmas dinner and gift exchange for the kiddos with our favorite neighbors.
Noah and Aunt Sara made the best gingerbread cookies ever!
little bakers
Since we were in our own house this year, we tried to start our own traditions, with both American & Norwegian ones . :)
Here we have Sara and Preb making a famous Norwegian cake called Krancekake.
Park time with Aunt Sara!

We went driving around looking at all the fun Christmas lights!
Love when people go all out!

Love the post! Laughed out loud at your comment about the snow ball fight. And that is one cool Krancekake! :)
ReplyDeleteSO much fun. I am glad you didn't skip this post - it is good to share these fun memories, even in March! It was a fun Christmas. :)
ReplyDeleteLove you guys!
Thank you for sharing Ellen. I am ready to start our own Christmas traditions at our house too with our furry children. Family is great, but "us" time during the holidays is better.

ReplyDeleteI love the one of my arms stretched over the car seats in the back of the car - so graceful of me..
